Southwest Transportation Center

The firm’s scope of work included master planning, facility programming, architectural design, interior design and landscape design for a new 48,000 square foot, 20 vehicle service bay/warehouse facility, a 12,000 square foot administration center and an 8,000 square foot routing building.

The project site area consists of 18 acres, accommodating parking for 300 school buses, 300 employee/visitor vehicles and a roofed 4 pump bus fueling area inclusive of a school bus wash station.

Other parts of the work included all site work and underground utilities and the design of off-site water and sewer force mains with the capacity to serve the Transportation Center as well as a future Dade County Schools Maintenance facility on an adjacent site.
