Summary

Borrelli + Partners, Inc. provided architectural design and construction administration services for this $1.2 million reconstruction to Lift Station #5.

Lift Station #5 is situated at the northeast corner of Gore Street and South Tampa Avenue within the City of Orlando. The new lift station consists of a building with three rooms: a ventilated pump room, an air-conditioned room for electrical panels, and controls and a ventilated generator room.

The building's construction is split face concrete masonry block, using a pre-stressed concrete roof slab with built-up roofing. The new building has an architectural appearance that helps blend it into the surrounding neighborhood. The new station is surrounded by an eight foot high security wall complying with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principals.

The site of the pump station was landscaped to blend with and enhance the surrounding area and provide natural screening with trees. Existing trees were preserved as much as possible and new plantings are native plants found in similar conditions.
