Summary

As part of a Design/Build team with J2 Engineering, Borrelli + Partners was selected by the U.S. Army Engineering & Support Center, Huntsville, AL to design a 22,160 square foot Youth Center at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah, GA. The LEED®Gold certified facility accommodates up to 135 children ages 11-18 and was being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Borrelli + Partners’ scope of work included providing full architectural services from schematic design review to 100% construction document completion. The Youth Center consists of a one-story building that has a large teen room with a covered canopy extension for outdoor activities, a 6,664 square foot multi-purpose room, equipment storage, four activity rooms, a technology lab, two common/gathering areas, a culinary/snack bar, three offices, staff lounge, restroom facilities that are ADA compliant and support areas for mechanical, electrical and communications.
