Summary

As part of a Design/Build team with J2 Engineering, Borrelli + Partners was selected by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Huntsville District to design a 15,620 square foot Child Development Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

The LEED® Silver targeted facility now accommodates up to 235 children ages six weeks to five years of age.

Borrelli + Partners’ scope of work included providing complete architectural and engineering services from schematic design through construction administration. This Child Development Center is a one-story building which was divided into three quadrants to accommodate the particular needs of infants, toddlers and pre-school children. It contains a commercial kitchen and two large indoor play rooms. The administration facilities and mechanical and electrical support areas were housed within the building as well. A large exterior playground was also included in the design.
