Summary

Borrelli + Partners, Inc. (B+P) was commissioned by the Orange Bowl Committee to design their “Legacy Gift Project” for Moore Park, the site of the first Orange Bowl game 75 years ago. As part of an overall improvement plan for Moore Park, the project offered the opportunity to redefine and reinvent this strategically located park, and provided the diverse population a much enhanced park facility. Along with the Orange Bowl Committee and the City of Miami, B+P shares in the belief that this project will be a catalyst for the park’s redevelopment. B+P’s design for the construction of the new youth sports/high school football stadium, consisted of the following elements:

  • 3,000 square foot restroom building for home and away teams

  • 6,000 square foot concession building for home and away teams

  • New field surface made of synthetic field turf

  • 1,500 aluminum bleacher seats

  • Press box with a PA system

  • Electronic scoreboard

  • Field lightingThe

The entire facility is now accessible to the general public. It was designed to be compatible with the City’s overall master plan for reinvigorating this urban park as a unique community resource.
