Summary

Borrelli + Partners was selected to design a new 250 seat restaurant and bait shop on the existing Dania Beach fishing pier, a signature project for the community of Dania Beach.

The work involved adding a new dining terrace, stairway and elevator tower, as well as a restaurant and bait shop shell to the existing pier built in 1993. The restaurant was designed to maximize the number of tables with water views so patrons can enjoy the spectacular views of the beach from 25 feet above the waves. The restaurant and kitchen areas total 4,000 square foot with an additional 2,000 square foot of outdoor dining. The bait shop, including an accessible restroom, was designed to work within only 350 square foot.

The project was designed within a strict budget using durable materials that would withstand constant salt spray and strong winds inherent in its coastal location. The project followed Florida guidelines for coastal construction to prevent any disturbance to nesting sea turtles and adds new native dune plantings to enhance its natural setting.
